Wanjiru Waithaka is a Kenyan author whose captivating storytelling weaves together rich cultural landscapes and complex characters. Her work explores themes of identity, belonging, and the human experience, offering readers a glimpse into the heart of Kenya and beyond. Wanjiru Waithaka’s Bibliography

Wanjiru has written 8 books, edited several others and written numerous articles in newspapers and magazines over the last two decades.
Her third novel, Silencing Anna was released on Saturday 3rd December 2022 and is now available at Nuria bookstore and Prestige bookshop.

Her first book, a novel titled The Unbroken Spirit (2005), won third prize in the adult fiction category of the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature in 2007, the biggest and most prestigious literary award in the country. It was published by East African Educational Publishers (Eaep).
She co-authored A Profile of Kenyan Entrepreneurs (2012) with Evans Majeni. Also published by Eaep, it features a dozen of Kenya’s most successful business owners.
Wanjiru helps her clients write their memoirs. She partnered with M.G. Waweru, former Commissioner General Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and founder member of TransCentury, to write his autobiography titled Kenya’s Tax Czar. The book was released in December 2021. She assisted S.K. Macharia, founder and chairman of Royal Media Services, to write his autobiography titled Tenacious Courage, that is yet to be released.
Wanjiru’s non creative works include the Blue Book 2014 – The EU and Kenya: Partnership for Development, the annual report on development cooperation between the European Union and Kenya, which was launched on 9 May 2014. She also compiled the Blue Book 2016: Securing the future of the youth and promoting gender equality.
Another project was a collaboration where she compiled the speeches, presentations and discussions of the two-day Pan Africa Media Conference held on March 18-19, 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya into a book titled Media & The Africa Promise (2011).
The conference was organised by the Nation Media Group (NMG) and the Africa Media Initiative. Speakers included former President Mwai Kibaki, Rwandese President Paul Kagame, His Highness the Aga Khan, CNN correspondent David McKenzie and Google Africa’s Ory Okolloh. The book was edited by Wangethi Mwangi, former editorial director at NMG.
